Spicey Turmeric Smoothie Recipe

Turmeric for joint pain? YES! Numerous studies have proven turmeric to be an effective anti-inflammatory for the joints! The vibrant root, most often enjoyed in curry can now be found in supplements, powders and extracts for its healing power. In fact, a study by The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine shows that the curcumin found in turmeric eased pain and improved function about as well as ibuprofen. For an extra dose of joint support, try this Spicey, Tropical Smoothie!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 C. Coconut Milk
  • 1/2 C. Pineapple or Papaya chunks
  • 1 Banana
  • 1/2 Tsp. Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 Tsp. Ground Cinnamon (or 1/2-inch fresh turmeric/ginger, peeled and roughly chopped)
  • 1/4 Tsp. Freshly, Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 Tsp. Honey, Maple Syrup or Stevia to sweeten

PREPARATION 

Put all of the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Drink immediately to enjoy the many nutritional benefits!
