The hope that we can always be well or that we can depend on scientific discoveries to eliminate all illnesses is an illusion that is increasingly being rejected, even by conventional medicine. While there appears to be a general consensus amongst many practioners on the stress for a balanced diet, emphasis on nutrition alone is much more than what we consume on a daily basis.
Conscious eating is the awareness of how the food affects our body, emotions, mind, and spiritual enlightenment. Our choices will reflect the state of harmony with oneself, the world, all of creation, and the Divine. Though it is difficult to change one’s old habits and belief systems, this must be done if one desires living a healthful life.
